Singapore holds welcoming ceremony for President Nguyen Xuan Phuc
The official welcoming ceremony for President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, his spouse and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation was hosted by Singaporean President Halimah Yacob and her spouse at the Istana on the morning of February 25.
The President is accompanied by Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang, Chairman of the Presidential Office Le Khanh Hai, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, and Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, among others.
The Singaporean President and her spouse welcomed President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his spouse at the main lobby of the Istana. The two presidents then stepped on the podium of honour while the two countries’ anthems were played by a military band.
The head of Singapore’s guard of honour saluted and invited President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to review the guard of honour. President Nguyen Xuan Phuc saluted Singapore’s military flag and reviewed the guard of honour along with President Halimah Yacob.
At the conclusion of the welcoming ceremony, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and President Halimah Yacob introduced members of the two countries’ high-ranking delegations attending the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a meeting with President Halimah Yacob.
Later in the day, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc is expected to hold talks with Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong and witness the exchange of some cooperative documents between the two countries.
