The Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a decision on exemptions for the application of safeguard measures for high-quality imported painted steels and rolled steel for the production of welding materials
On May 31, 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1931/QD-BCT on the application of safeguard measures against imported painted steel products imported into Vietnam from various countries/regions (case number SG05).
Pursuant to the Notification attached to Decision No. 1931/QD-BCT and Decision No. 2968/QD-BCT, alloy wire products under HS code 7227.90.00 for the manufacture of welding rods and high quality imports for production are excluded from the scope of the safeguard measure.
At the request for exemption of enterprises, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) has aggregated the data and submitted to the leaders of Ministry of Industry and Trade to issue a decision on exemption for each enterprise, as follows:
Pursuant to provisions of Decision No. 1931/QD-BCT and Decision No. 2968/QD-BCT, on a quarterly basis, exempted enterprises shall be must file a report (under the form) about the importations to TRAV within the first 15 days of the following quarter. In case the enterprise fails to send the report on time to TRAV, the Ministry of Industry and Trade shall revoke the granted exemption decision.
