Distribution channels in France accelerate plans to import Vietnamese lychee

All sold out within three days of hitting the shelves. With the itrace247 traceability stamp of the Trade Promotion Department – Ministry of Industry and Trade, Thanh Ha lychees that were imported, hit the shelves of Asian supermarkets in Paris and received very good consumer demand.

As a result, French enterprises have decided to accelerate the import plan to meet market demand, and will start importation of the second batch as soon as this week.

Thus, in just seven days, there will be two shipments of nearly 1 ton of Vietnamese lychee officially imported into France by air cargo.

After tasting Thanh Ha Lychees, many customers at The Asian supermarket system,  expressed surprise at the delicious taste and sweetness of the lychee. Some Vietnamese customers said that they are very touched because they had longed to see Vietnamese lychee officially being sold at supermarkets in Paris and are willing to continue to support Vietnamese agricultural products. Despite the market price of 18 Euros per 1 kg box, many customers bought up to 5 kg for the whole family and even had them as gifts for French friends.

 In addition, some foreign customers were very interested in the traceability stamps and were surprised to have access to more information about the fruit. Information such as, from the farming process to the history of harvesting, packaging and quality inspection certificates.

The head of Vietnam Trade in France, Mr. Vu Anh Son, said that for many years, people living in France has always appreciated the understanding of the origin of food. This helps to ensure the understanding of the quality of goods, and also helps to improve the commitment and responsibility of manufacturers and distributors to consumers. Many food items, including meat products, currently have mandatory regulations on traceability " from farm to table " but for agricultural products imported into France there is no such mandatory regulation. Thus, Vietnam is at the forefront, embracing the new consumer trend, which is a responsible consumer trend. This also reflects the image of being strategic, responsible and consumer-centered export policies of the Government of Vietnam.

The shipment of nearly 1 ton of lychee imported into Charles de Gaulle International Airport on June 12 is the first shipment to the European market with traceability stamps by the Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade. These are the first batches of fabric lychee to be imported in large quantities. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Director of the Promotion Export Center – Vietnam Trade Promotion agency, said that "opening up the market", not only affirms the quality of Vietnamese goods but at the same time the demand of consumers in France for quality products of Vietnam.

In order to continue promoting the promotion and consumption of Vietnamese lychee in France, the Trade Office and the Embassy of Vietnam in France will organize a booth to promote Vietnamese lychees at the Vietnam Food Festival 2021 to be held on March 1, 2020. June 19, 2021 come here at Monge Square, the center of Paris. This is an event organized with the goal of promoting Vietnamese cuisine, culture and image to a large number of local people. The event is expected to attract a large number of locals when held in accordance to the French government allowing the reopening of outdoor events. At this event, many French consumers will discover for the first time the delicious taste of Thanh Ha lychee,

Currently, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and Trade Office in France is continuing to promote the search for new French import clues, select and support businesses with export capacity to the EU to connect more export orders of agricultural products in general and lychees in particular from Vietnam to France, and hereby fully attain the advantages brought by the EVFTA Agreement to Vietnam's agricultural product industry.
